Diagnosed as a system, repaired the right way

Our skilled technicians handle a wide range of issues, from equipment malfunctions to structural repairs. Whether it is a leak, a pump malfunction or a problem with pool plumbing, we evaluate the system as a whole before recommending a repair, rather than simply replacing parts. That is how the real cause gets fixed and the same problem does not come back.

Our repair process

Diagnosis first. Clear approval. Verified results.

Every repair follows the same five steps, so you know what is wrong, what it will cost and that it has been fixed properly.

1

Diagnosis

A technician evaluates the system as a whole, not only the part that failed, to find the root cause.

2

Written Estimate

You receive a clear, itemized estimate that explains what we found and what we recommend.

3

Homeowner Approval

Nothing is repaired or replaced until you have reviewed the estimate and approved it.

4

Professional Repair

The work is completed by CPO-certified technicians experienced with Hayward and Pentair equipment.

5

System Verification

We run the system, confirm everything works together and document the finished repair with photos.

“So glad I found Bright Water Pool Co. They replaced my pump last year and did a great job. Just opened my pool and they actually took the time to scrub the walls and are back today to check on everything. It’s so refreshing to have a company that shows pride in their work and gets it right the first time.”

What we repair

From a dripping seal to a green pool, diagnosed and fixed

Leak Detection & Repair

Visual inspection, pressure testing and tracer or acoustic tools to pinpoint leaks in shell, plumbing, fittings and equipment, then a written repair plan.

Pump & Motor Repairs

Humming, grinding, leaking seals or a pump that will not prime. Capacitors, bearings, seals, impellers and variable-speed upgrades.

Heater & Equipment Repairs

Gas heaters and heat pumps that will not ignite or throw error codes, plus salt cells, chlorinators and control boards. See heater repair.

Plumbing Repairs

Cracked PVC, failed valves and unions, suction-side air leaks and freeze-damaged lines at the equipment pad.

Filter System Repairs

Cartridge, DE and sand filters: cracked tanks, torn grids, worn gaskets, multiport valves and pressure problems.

Lighting Repairs

Pool and spa lights that flicker, fill with water or trip the breaker.

Automatic Pool Cleaner Repairs

Suction, pressure and robotic cleaners that stop moving, lose suction or wear out hoses, tracks and diaphragms.

Emergency Repairs

Green water, a pump that quit in July, a leak that will not stop. Call and we'll get a technician out as soon as possible.

Common symptoms, and why we look past the obvious part

The part that stops working is often not the part that caused the problem. These are the symptoms we are called about most, and what our technicians check before recommending a repair.

  • Pump hums but will not startUsually a failed start capacitor or a seized motor. We also check voltage and what caused the failure.
  • Pump runs but will not primeSuction-side air leak, cracked lid o-ring, low water level or a clogged basket or impeller.
  • Heater shows an error codeOften low flow from a dirty filter or pump setting, not the heater itself. Sensors and ignition come next.
  • Filter pressure climbs fastPollen or algae load, a torn cartridge, or a DE grid that needs cleaning or replacement.
  • Water level drops when equipment runsA classic sign of a pressure-side plumbing leak, common after Middle Tennessee freezes.
  • Water turned green after stormsA chemistry problem that often reveals a circulation or filtration problem underneath.

What homeowners say about our repair work

“Brightwater Pools was recommended to me after another company failed to complete a new pool heater installation and left my pool equipment in terrible shape. They also damaged my control system, which had to be replaced.

Collin and the team at Brightwater stepped in, diagnosed the problems, and got everything working again. They installed a new, simpler control system that is much easier to use, and they took the time to correct the mistakes left behind by the previous company.”

Pool repair FAQs

Quick answers about diagnostics, estimates and the repairs we see most in Middle Tennessee.

Every repair follows five steps: diagnosis, written estimate, homeowner approval, professional repair and system verification. Our technicians evaluate the system as a whole before recommending a repair, rather than simply replacing parts, and no work begins until you have approved the estimate.
Yes. We diagnose the issue, provide a clear written estimate and only proceed with your approval. We specialize in energy-saving upgrades such as variable-speed pumps and efficient automation that lower operating costs and extend equipment life.
We use visual inspection, pressure testing and tracer or acoustic tools when needed to pinpoint leaks. If we find a leak, you get a written repair estimate and timeline. Early detection prevents structural damage and costly repairs.
Call Bright Water right away. We'll test your water, treat or shock as needed, and inspect filtration and circulation to remove the root cause. Quick intervention limits treatment time and cost.
A humming pump that will not start usually points to a failed capacitor or seized motor. A loud grinding pump usually means bearings. A pump that runs but will not prime is typically a suction-side air leak, a cracked lid o-ring or a clogged basket. We test each on site and give you a written estimate for the repair, or for a variable-speed replacement when that is the better option.
Common causes are low water flow from a dirty filter, a failed pressure or temperature sensor, ignition problems, a tripped high-limit switch or a corroded heat exchanger. We diagnose the code, confirm flow and gas supply, and provide a written estimate before any repair.
Cracked pump housings, filter tanks, heater manifolds and above-ground PVC are the most common freeze repairs we see after January cold snaps. Look for drips at the equipment pad, a pump that loses prime or a water level that drops when equipment runs, and have it checked before swim season.
Repairs and emergency calls are scheduled by appointment, and our maintenance routes already run through every community we serve, so a technician is usually nearby. Call (615) 437-4343 and our team will confirm the earliest opening.
Yes. All technicians are licensed where required and covered by full liability insurance. Our managers run regular quality checks and system evaluations so you get consistent, professional work every time.
